In the Spring of 2007 I took a class offered at Metropolitan State College of Denver on Conserving the Glapagos Islands. The class is titled "In Darwin's Footsteps." This class culminated with a trip to the Galapagos Islands where my classmates and I lived aboard a yacht and visited ten of the islands. It was an experience of a lifetime and worth every penny of the $6,000 travel fees.

On this web site I am attempting to share my experiences from the Galapagos with a daily journal of events, my photographs of the exotic animals, plants and landscapes as well as the scientific knowledge known about the archipelago and its inhabitants. I have organized the site so that each page represents a single day of activities and sightings on the adventure.

On the left-hand side of each page are photos I took during the course of the day's events. To view the images in greater detail you can click on them to open up a larger photo. I have also included information on each species I was lucky enough to encounter, of which you can access by clicking on the photo's title or by clicking on the organism's name in the text of the journal. By clicking on the titles of non-animal photos a new web page will open with additional information pertaining to the photo's contents.

There is a great deal of information on this site and I hope that my readers will gain a positive perspective on the famed island chain and its residents. Furthermore, I hope the site serves as a learning tool for those who seek knowledge on the Galapagos and the unique plants and animals that call the islands home.
